George W. Seib

George W. Seib, age 102, of Millcreek, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, July 25, 2012.

He was born in Erie, PA on January 8, 1910 son of the late John and Rose Neff Seib.

George graduated from the Erie Technical High School and served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was stationed in the South Pacific during WWII. He was an automotive diagnostic and electrical service technician. He worked at Briggs and Hagenlocker for over 61 years and owned that business for over 40 years. He also taught automotive electronics at Erie Technical High School. George was a member of the Erie Moose Lodge #66 since 1937 and was a past Governor there.

George was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn, "the love of his life"; a son, John (Jack) Seib, a grandson Danny Parry, a sister, Idabell Gorr , a brother, Emory Seib and a nephew, Dan Gorr.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharyn (Ed) Parry, grandchildren; Scott (Wendy) Seib, Mike (Kathy) Seib, Jay (Steph) Goodwin, Michael (Liz) Parry, Patrick (Shannon Hart) Parry, Kerriann (Mike) Weese, all of Erie and Mary Kate (Jeff) Peters of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Patty Burgess and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to George's four loving and dedicated caregivers.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Saturday from 3 until 7 pm and are invited to a service there Saturday evening at 7 pm with Deacon John Mang officiating.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Memorials may be made to the Dan Parry Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Burton Westlake Funeral Home.
