Charles H. Peterson age 91, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Fairview Manor. He was born in Mercer, PA on July 24, 1921 a son of the late Claude H. and Florence McIntire Peterson. He was a graduate of Penn High in Greenville and a 1943 graduate of Thiel College. Mr. Peterson served in the United States Navy during WWII and after the war as full Lieutenant USNR. Charles worked for over 37 years at Lord Corporation and retired as export sales manager in 1984. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Erie Yacht Club, Navy League, Presque Isle Rotary Club, SCORE, Perry Keystone Lodge No. 392 F. &A.M.; Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Erie; and Zem Zem Temple Shrine. He was a former Trustee of Thiel College. He enjoyed sailing, photography, traveling, and wintering in Florida with his wife. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Peterson and a sister, Marianna Hill. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Agnes McDonald Peterson whom he married June 1944; two daughters, Ann K. Niemann and her husband Edwin of Beaver, PA, Kristi Chapman and her husband Stephen of Portage, MI, a son, Craig Peterson and his wife Alexis of Erie; and a brother, Rodney Peterson and his wife Ann of Williamsburg, VA. He is further survived by four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two nieces. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the V.A. Medical Center Red Team, Fairview Manor, and Great Lakes Hospice. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1002 Powell Avenue, on Tuesday, August 21st, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev.
