Bernard Dean Ohler

Bernard Dean Ohler, 71, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at Fairview Manor with his family by his side, following a brief illness.

Bernard's career as a telephone installer started in the U. S. Army and then at GTE.

He was a Korean War Veteran and served as President for 17 years for the American Legion Post 773.

He shared over 52 years with the love of his life Yang Cha "Mickey" a love that bonds them together forever.

His hobbies include fishing, hunting, restoring antique cars, and gardening.

He was highly respected by the community and known for his generosity and kindness by sharing the bounty of his garden, volunteering of his time in carpentry work and for the church, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Ohler and Helen Maust Ohler Courtney; and a brother Ken.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Yang Cha "Mickey"; a son, Myung Hwa Han; brothers, Bob and Tom Courtney; sister, Rita Witt; nieces, May Chai Miller (Grant) and Syng Yae Chai Buchanan (Thomas).

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street on Wednesday from 4pm until the time of service at 7pm.

Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery Thursday at 10am.
