Patricia Ann Jones, age 69, of Erie, went to heaven surrounded by family at her residence on Saturday, September 1, 2012. She was born in Laurel Mississippi on September 6, 1942, a daughter of the late Elisha Parker Sr. and Mary Lee Simmons.
After her family moved to Erie, Patricia graduated from Academy High School in 1961 and then went to Cleveland, OH, receiving her Beautician License. She worked for Community Health Net for many years as a secretary. Patricia was a very active member of Second Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Nurses Guild. She loved to travel and was a fixture at all her grandchildren's sporting events. Everyone knew her as the backbone of her family with her affectionate smile, she was loved by all.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Annette Simmons and a grandson Marcell Silmon-Jones.
In addition to her mother, Patricia is survived by six children, Monique Jones of Erie, Maurice Jones and his wife Patricia of Cedar Hill, TX., Michael, Melissa, Marshall and Monica, all of Erie. She also leaves 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two sisters, Linda Johnson of Erie and Pricilla Malone and her husband William of Arlington, TX, and a brother, Elisha Parker Jr. and his wife Sernita of New Orleans, LA and nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, Pa. 16502 on Wednesday from 2 until 4 pm and 6 until 8 pm and are invited to Patricia's funeral service on Friday at 11:00 am at Second Baptist Church, 750 East 26th Street, Erie, Pa., 16504 with Reverend Dr. Allen B. Green officiating. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Church.
