Phyllis Jean Stanton Headley, died Friday, September 14, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Washington, D.C., on September 5, 1944, the daughter of the late Raymond Walter and Melvina Elizabeth Mussett Stanton.
Mrs. Headley worked as a spray painter at Comptech. Previous to that she had worked at Erie Technological Products for 9 ½ years.
She was a member of the Cascade Park Club Ladies Auxiliary. She loved her dogs especially with a passion for those in need.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Hilda Taylor; one sister, Beverly Tanner, and a brother, Raymond Stanton.
She is survived by her husband William John Headley; three sisters: Gloria Balczum of West Springfield, Linda Spanggard, and Jill Stanton both of Erie; three brothers: David Grieshaber, Timothy Stanton and his wife, Karen, and Theodore Stanton, all of Erie; two step-children, Gary Headley and his wife, Pat of Shelton, CT and Lynn Noel Headley of Pittsburgh, PA. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th St., on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday at 10am with the Reverend Dan Owen officiating.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family c/o the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
