Richard P. Armour age 69, of Meadville, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Erie on December 28, 1942 a son of Philip and Jean Skopow Armour.
Richard graduated from Tech High School and attended the Columbus School of Art on a scholarship.
Richard owned the Shaggy Dog Tavern of Erie for over 22 years and then in semi-retirement he was a school bus driver for Clair Ferry Transportation of Saegertown, the ARC of Crawford County and Voices for Independence of Meadville.
Richard was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of New Beginnings Church of God. He enjoyed collecting antiques, art, volunteering at his church, camping and was an avid dog lover.
He is survived by his wife Heidi Armour of Meadville; three daughters, Laura Armour and Lisa Armour Ellis of Leander, TX and Lisa Lombard-Siegler of Waterford, PA; seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Daniel, Rowan and Raven of Leander, TX and Spencer, Makenzie and Gabriella of Waterford, PA; and a brother Jim Armour of Erie, Pa.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 602 W. 10th Street on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Harold Ferraro and Pastor Temple Jarrell of New Beginnings Church of God co-officiating including a Masonic service.
A going Home Celebration will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville, Pa 16335.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lisa Lombard-Siegler 833 N. High St., Waterford, PA 16441.
