Emilia (Emily) Kosin Malinowski was born on January 9, 1917 in Salem, MA to Adam Kosin and Mary Anna Chrozon. She married I. Paul Malinowski on July 22, 1935. She departed from this life on January 29, 2010.
Emilia is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, I. Paul Malinowski; a son Stanley; two sisters, Jane Suvara and Dora Sulkowski; three brothers, Frank, Stanley and Kosh Kosin.
Emilia is survived by three daughters Mary Bonty of Lafayette IN, Emilia Fowler-Weiss of Austin, TX and Pauline Osmer of Erie. She is further survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
During WWII she worked several jobs including Erie Bolt and Nut for many years and General Telephone Company for 25 years. After a year of retirement, she resumed working at Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse for 17 years.
She was a member of Mount Calvary Church but also attended St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church for several years. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, embroidering and cooking. Her spirit of courage, strength, and determination will be in our hearts forever. Her three daughters were the most important part of her life.
Friends are invited to call on the family on Monday from 3 pm until 8 pm at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc, 602 West 10th Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, 521 E. Third St. at 11am.
Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
