Lovell Rodrigues, age 80, of Girard passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Hamot Medical Center. She was born in Johnstown, PA, on September 9, 1929, to the late Virgil and Elva Rowland Rummel.
Lovell worked at Erie Resister for 29 years and later at Spectrum Control for 20 years as a stock room clerk. She was a member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church. Her family meant the world to her.
In addition to her parents, Lovell was preceded in death by her husband Manuel Rodrigues. She is survived by two sons: Kevin Rodrigues and his wife Michele of Fairview and Emanuel Rodrigues and his wife Jill of Erie; a daughter: Katherine Willover and her husband Eugene of Erie; three brothers: Virgil Rummel and his wife Val, Darrell Rummel and his wife Darla, and Charles Sidor and his wife Linda, all of Johnstown; three sisters: Audrey Burkhart of Fairview, Vivian Layton and her husband Henry and Mary Louise Wilson and her husband Eugene, all of Johnstown. She is further survived by six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard, on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday in Burton's All Faiths Chapel with Rev. William Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Erie County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
