James H Olverson age 81, of Erie died Monday July 12, 2010 at the V. A. Medical Center.

Born in Youngstown, OH on September 18, 1928 the son of the late Dewitt and Kathleen Macelory Olverson.

He served in the navy from 1945 to 1949. He worked at the Erie Railroad and B & O Railroad. He retired from General Electric after working there for 22 years as a fireman.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ella V. Bailey and Thelma L. Barnes and two brothers, Dewitt Olverson, Jr. and Walter Olverson as well as by a stepson, Brent Pattison.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Olverson; a son David Olverson and wife Stephanie; stepson, Kent Pattison and wife Judy and stepdaughter Kim Pattison along with his step daughter-in-law; Karen Pattison. He is further survived by a granddaughter, Erin Olverson and three step grandchildren; Ty Pattison (Brandy), Tracy Pattison and Noel Pattison. He also leaves three sisters; Bernice Smith, Katie Rudolf and Delores Yates, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd. on Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and are invited to a service there on Friday at 10:00 am with Rev. Daniel Laird officiating.

Burial will be at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio.
